Common use of Attendance Allowance Clause in Contracts

Attendance Allowance. 18.01 If an employee reports to work at the beginning of his regular shift without receiving notice not to come in at least two (2) hours before the beginning of his shift, he shall be paid the equivalent of four (4) hours of work at the regular rate, but such obligation on the part of the Company shall not apply if the work shortage is due to conditions beyond the Company’s control, or the employee returns to work before being advised of same following an absence of more than three (3) days due to illness or accident. In the event of a situation beyond the Company’s control, the Company shall strive to notify the employees where possible.
