Summer. The Board agrees to provide the equivalent of one (1) thirteen-week .25 FTE summer released time assignment. This summer release may be given to one person, or shared between two people, as designated by UFF-FGCU. Payment for the summer release shall be at the same rate as the designated person(s) would receive for their share of one 3-credit-hour summer course. The UFF-FGCU shall provide the University with a list of the designees no later than April 21 of the academic year preceding the summer term. All other provisions contained in Article 3.4 above, except 3.4A and 3.4B above, shall apply to summer released time.

The UFF may designate three (3) employees to receive a thirteen week .25 FTE summer released time assignment however, no more than one employee per 15 employees per department/unit be designated to receive such released time. The UFF shall provide the University with a list of the designees no later than April 7th of the academic year preceding the summer term. Summer. Employees that work on a regular assignment during the summer shall earn additional sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour for every eighteen (18) hours of pay earned during the summer.
Summer. The parties recognize that summer appointments are also different than the more typical appointments of a traditional semester (fall/spring), academic year or calendar year. Therefore, the twenty (20) hour average in Section 2 and Section 3 shall not apply to summer appointments. For the Summer months, the following average maximum temperature shall apply. Month Average Maximum Temperature June 82o F July 90o F August 88o F September 77o F If the National Weather Service changes or replaces the average maximum temperature used in this Agreement during the Term, the new average maximum temperature or its replacement shall apply.
