Air Distribution. 1. When metal is heated it expands, and when cooled it contracts. The result is minor noises which are generally to be expected. The stiffening of the ductwork and the gauge of the metal used shall be such that ducts do not make major noises originating from an “oilcan” of the ductwork. The booming noise caused by “oilcanning” is a defect and Builder shall take necessary steps to eliminate this condition.
Air Distribution. The system will supply and exhaust air into duct mains installed on the roof. Supply and exhaust ductwork will be routed from the duct mains down shafts and extended to the Office and Laboratory Space and capped. The system is designed for Tenant Improvement supply and exhaust ductwork to be looped, interconnecting the shafts.
Air Distribution a. Parallel powered induction units (PIU) on each floor to serve the perimeter and interior zones. Each unit will include electric heat.
b. Medium pressure duct runouts to new PIUs from existing supply mains. Exhibit B – Scope of Services
c. Supply air distribution downstream of each PIU. The air distribution will include new low pressure ductwork, flex duct, and 2’x2’ square cone ceiling diffusers.

Diffusers: Each floor of the Building shall be provided with (A) forty-five (45) Building standard 2' x 2' ceiling diffusers, 22050-55605 Real Estate set on splines and (B) eight (8) Building standard slot linear diffusers (two (2) of each slot diffusers shall be located at each corner of the Building).
Air Distribution a) Secondary distribution ducts from main duct loop, VAV boxes, and distribution to perforated grilles at interior spaces, airbars at walls.
b) VAV boxes with electric heat at perimeter zones.
c) Extension of controls to energy management system, utilizing the same manufacturer.
