Advance Study Sample Clauses
Advance Study. A leave of absence shall be granted to any bargaining unit member for the purpose of engaging in study to upgrade his certification or to meet accreditation requirements. Upon return from such a leave a bargaining unit member shall be credited with one year of experience and be placed at that position on the salary schedule as he/she would have been had he/she taught in the district during such period.
Advance Study. Upon application, a leave of absence without pay for the purpose of advanced study may be granted to any certified staff on tenure who does not qualify for or elect to take a sabbatical leave. Certified staff must state his/her intention to return to the school system at least ninety (90) days prior to the end of School District 26 term of the second year. Upon return from such leave, certified staff shall be placed in the appropriate degree plus approved hours category. It is understood the Administration will not be required to establish new categories.
Advance Study. A leave of absence for up to one (1) year without pay may, upon the approval of the Superintendent, be granted for: • study related to the employee's licensed, certified or state approved field, • study to meet eligibility requirements for a license, certification or state approval other than that held by the employee, and • study, research, or a special service assignment involving probable advantage to the District. Upon return from such leave, an employee will be considered as if he/she were actively employed by the District during the leave and will be placed on the salary schedule at the level he/she would have achieved if he/she had not been absent.
