Advance Step Placement Clause Samples

The Advance Step Placement clause establishes the conditions under which an employee may be placed at a higher step within a pay grade upon hiring or promotion, rather than starting at the minimum step. Typically, this clause allows for consideration of factors such as prior relevant experience, specialized skills, or market conditions to justify a higher initial salary placement. Its core practical function is to provide flexibility in compensation, enabling employers to attract and retain qualified candidates by offering competitive pay that reflects their background and expertise.
