Union Rights. The Union shall have the following rights:
Union Rights. Section 1 The employees and the Union, as their exclusive bargaining representative, shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges granted to them by Act 379 of the Michigan Public Acts of 1965 as amended from time to time and by other applicable statutes now or hereafter enacted except as expressly limited by the terms of this Agreement. Section 2 The Board agrees to furnish the Union in response to reasonable requests from time to time, all available information concerning the financial resources of the District, tentative budgetary requirements and allocations and other such information as will assist the Union in developing intelligent, accurate, informed and constructive programs on behalf of the food service staff and customers, together with information which may be necessary for the Union to process any grievance or complaint. Such requests must be in writing and specifically designate the material requested. For materials not normally mass produced a reasonable cost/charge may be required. Section 3 The Union and its members shall have the right to use school building facilities at all reasonable hours for meetings, providing such use does not interfere with previous building commitments. Section 4 Duplicating machinery shall be available for Union use. Materials used solely for the benefit of the Union shall be paid for by the Union. Materials used for preparation of items of mutual and common use shall be provided without cost by the Board. Section 5 The Union shall appoint stewards and alternate stewards. No ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or alternate, regardless of when selected, shall function as such until the Board has been notified in writing by the president of the local Union, chairperson of the unit, or an international Union or council officer of her/his election. Section 6 Stewards and their alternates and other Union officials shall be permitted to engage in contract negotiations and adjustment of grievances subject to the limitations set forth in this Agreement. Section 7 Any ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ having an individual grievance in connection with her/his own work may ask that another ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or alternate or Union official assist her/him in adjusting the grievance with her/his supervisor. Section 8 Bulletin boards shall be erected in a conspicuous place for the purpose of posting notices of Union business or activities. Union Rights. 26.1 The following rights shall be granted exclusively to the Union and shall not be granted to any other labor organization. 26.2 The College shall provide the Union payroll deduction for membership dues for employees who authorize the deductions in the amount designated by the Union. The deductions shall be made provided the deduction request is submitted to the College's payroll office on a form authorized by the Union. The deductions shall be made from employee paychecks for each pay period. The authorizations may be submitted to the payroll office at any time, and deductions will commence on the following payday. The deductions shall be transmitted to the Union within a reasonable period of time following each pay date at which the deductions were made. Employee authorizations shall be continuous and may be terminated at any time thirty (30) days prior to the deduction termination. The Union shall notify the Payroll Office of any change in the deduction amounts at least ten (10) days prior to the effective date of the new amount. The Union agrees to render the College and Governing Board harmless for any action resulting from compliance with this provision. 26.3 The amount of deduction to be made from each employee’s wages will be certified in writing by the Union and shall be a fixed dollar amount per active pay period. In the event the amount of dues changes, the College shall implement such change within a reasonable time period. In the event an employee does not work for CNM for a period of time (becomes inactive) and, as a result, does not receive a paycheck, upon rehire dues deduction shall resume at the same amount that was being deducted prior to the time the employee became inactive. 26.4 Employee deductions may be terminated at any time by an employee contacting the College’s payroll office and notifying the Union. 26.5 The Union, its membership and the individual members of the bargaining unit agree to hold the College safe and harmless for any legal action resulting from compliance with the provision for dues deduction. The Union shall indemnify the College for any legal action regarding this issue.
Union Rights. 5.1 The Union shall notify the Board, in writing, of the following: (a) Names of its representatives in the Bargaining Unit on the Executive, Collective Bargaining Committee and Grievance Officer (b) Address and phone number of its Head Office (c) Address and phone number of the Bargaining Unit Office 5.2 The Board shall advise the President of the Bargaining Unit, in writing, of each new Member’s name and work location within thirty (30) working days of commencement of employment of the new Member. 5.3 The Board shall notify the President of the Bargaining Unit, in writing within five (5) working days, when a Member covered by this Agreement is promoted, demoted, transferred, will be laid off, is recalled, is disciplined, is put on review, or whose employment is terminated for any reason. 5.4 The Board shall advise all new Members that a Collective Agreement is in effect and provide the new Member with the name and business phone number of the President of the Bargaining Unit. 5.5 The Union agrees not to engage in Union activities during normal working hours, except for normal break periods. The Union further agrees not to hold Union meetings on the premises of the Board without prior permission of the Manager, Employee Relations or designate unless otherwise provided in this Agreement. 5.6 The Union may use the inter-office mail service and electronic mail for the purpose of communicating with its Members. If the Board believes the use of the services is being misused, the Manager, Employee Relations shall so notify the President of the Bargaining Unit and the matter may be taken up as a Board Grievance.
Union Rights. Section 1 The Union shall have the following rights in addition to the rights contained in any other portion of this Agreement: A. the right to represent an employee, upon request, in a formal meeting as expressly provided for in the Grievance Procedure, and in meetings relating to discipline; B. the right to access to areas in which employees work, provided employees are not disturbed during duty time. The Union-authorized representative shall report in to the supervisor of the area prior to contacting individual or groups of employees; C. the right to use, without charge, institutional bulletin boards, mailboxes, and the use of the school delivery service and other District means of communication for the posting or transmission of information or notices concerning Union matters; D. the right to be permitted reasonable use of the school telephone for calls involving grievance and discipline matters, so long as such use does not interfere with normal office business at the location; E. the right to coordinate Union meeting, which may be held in school buildings in accordance with the "Civic Center Act," at times before or after the school day or during employees' duty-free lunch period, subject to availability of facilities and provided that there is no interference with other scheduled duties or events; F. the Union shall receive a list of all classified employees in accordance with present practice. List to include name, classification, job location, and hire date in classification; G. the right to receive copies of any budget or financial material supplied to the public; H. the right to release time, without pay, for employees who are Service Employees International Union (SEIU) elected officers to conduct necessary SEIU business; and I. the right to review employees' personnel files and any other records dealing with employees when accompanied by the employee or on presentation of written authorization signed by the employee, not during duty time, unless involved in a filed grievance. Section 2 Within sixty (60) days after the execution of this Agreement, the District shall print, or duplicate, the Agreement and provide a copy for each employee in the bargaining unit. The District shall also provide a copy of this Agreement to all new bargaining unit members as they are hired. The cost of duplicating will be borne equally by the District and the Union.

The Union may post notices on existing bulletin board space which is not reserved for specific purposes, but in no case shall the Union be denied space sufficient to post one (1) 8 ½ inch by 14 inch sheet in an academic unit employing Employees. 2. In addition, the Employer shall provide the Union with bulletin board space designated with the Union’s name for its exclusive use in twenty (20) mutually agreed upon areas for the purpose of posting Union notices. Such space in each area will be large enough to hold four (4) 8-½ inch by 11-inch sheets. Ten (10) of these bulletin board spaces will be on the ▇▇▇ Arbor campus, five (5) spaces will be on the Flint campus and five (5) spaces will be on the Dearborn campus. 3. The Employer shall provide a working and reasonably visible Internet link to this Agreement on the University’s website. Section E. Forty-five (45) days prior to the start of each academic year, the University will provide the Union with the names and contact information of persons responsible for scheduling each academic unit’s first new Employee orientation. The Union will make arrangements with the contact person to schedule time at the orientation. The contact person will provide the Union with a one-hour time slot during the orientation. Notification of the orientation will include written notice of the Union’s presentation. The purpose of this time is to inform Employees about the Union’s function, to explain union dues, to recruit departmental stewards and to discuss current bargaining status or any other Union business. Union Rights. The Union may designate employee(s) within the bargaining unit to serve as a Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. Duties and responsibilities related to being a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ are the responsibility of the Union. Union Rights. ‌ A. The ATU, through its representatives, shall have the right to transact official ATU business relevant to employees on School District property at all reasonable times, provided that it shall not interfere with or interrupt classes or other normal School District operations. Such rooms or other appropriate meeting facilities shall be made available for ATU use as requested without charge to the ATU, except that the Board may make reasonable charge when special service is required beyond normal operational practice. B. ATU representatives shall have the right to use School District facilities and office equipment when the same are not otherwise in use. ATU representatives shall make their presence known in advance to the appropriate administrative authority when visiting School District facilities. The Board shall make available to the ATU upon written request to the Human Resources Department any and all reasonably available information, statistics and records which are relevant to negotiations or necessary for the proper enforcement of the terms of this Agreement. Any request that requires information or material that is not readily available shall be provided to the union for the cost of production of that material. G. Copies of written work rules which are applicable to a classification of employees and issued by supervision after the execution of this Agreement, for which failure to comply may result in discipline of an employee, shall be emailed to ATU or sent by US mail to the ATU local office and ATU executive board officer five (5) days prior to being posted or provided to the employees and their affiliated ATU union.
