Subgrade Preparation definition

Subgrade Preparation. The pavement subgrade within 2 feet of the subgrade elevation should be properly moisture conditioned and compacted as outlined in the “Site Grading” section of this report. Prior to placing the pavement section, the entire subgrade area should be thoroughly plowed and well mixed to a minimum depth of 12 inches, adjusted to a moisture content within 2 percentage points of optimum and compacted to 95% of the standard ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ maximum dry density.
