Skills Groups definition

Skills Groups. We offer group therapy and skills training to assist you in developing your emotion management, social skills, and healthy sexuality, which are based on effective principles of change. In group activities, you will learn new skills, and practice them with the support of staff “in-the-moment” as well as between group meeting times. Other topics for groups are offered from time to time depending on needs and availability of group leaders. We also offer parent support and education groups dependent on desire and availability. Individual Therapy and Counselling sessions may be part of the interactions between you and your primary worker(s) or they may be planned sessions between you and a clinician or psychologist. Therapy is organized around your individual treatment goals with an emphasis on known effective methods.
