SBBS Program definition

SBBS Program refers to the District’s School Based Behavior Support Programs for students in kindergarten through 5th or 6th grade who are eligible for special education services. These programs are intended to “provide high quality services for students with challenging behavior” by providing “intensive interventions” delivered by “special trained staff in specific environments in order to successfully access their education, while developing the skills to return to a less restrictive environment.” It currently refers to programs at Kasuun, Lake Hood, and Tyson Elementary Schools, but will also include any new such programs operated by the District and any replacements for the programs currently offered at any of those three schools (including any program that serves the same student population).
