practical evaluation definition

practical evaluation. (mostly Faculty of the Arts) means the assessment of a subject that is primarily of a practical nature, where a mark for admission to examination is calculated, but which mark may not form part of the final calculation of the final examination mark; the final mark for such a subject being determined by a combination of individual assessments throughout the year, a portfolio and, the student’s performance or project work, which are capped by a final assessment, but for which no supplementary examination or exit examina- tion is allowed;
