Pourashavas means the Borrower’s 22 urban municipalities of Bandarban, Bhairab, Gazipur, Habiganj, Ishwardi, Jhalakati, Khagrachari, Kishoreganj, Lalmonirhat, Lakshmipur, Manikganj, Meherpur, Moulvibazar, Narayanganj, Narsinghdi, Netrokona, Panchagarh, Sariatpur, Savar, Shahjadpur, Sherpur and Tongi, and, with respect to Phase 2 of the Project, any other urban municipality satisfying the entry criteria for pourashavas agreed between the Borrower and the Bank;

Examples of Pourashavas in a sentence

  • The Borrower shall take all actions which shall be necessary on its part to enable the Pourashavas to perform their obligations under the Project Agreement, and shall not take or permit any action which would interfere with the performance of such obligations.

  • Notwithstanding any other provision of this Grant Agreement, no withdrawals shall be made from the Grant Account until the Borrower and at least the Batch 1 Pourashavas shall have executed and delivered Subsidiary Grant Agreements.

  • The UMSU shall function as the secretariat for the municipal performance review committee which shall be responsible for assessing the performance of the Pourashavas.

  • The terms and conditions of the subsidiary loan agreement shall be in accordance with the Borrower’s standard terms and conditions of loans to Pourashavas and/or to its departments or agencies.

  • The Borrower hereby designates the Project Executing Agency and the Pourashavas as its agents for the purposes of taking any action or entering into any agreement required or permitted under Sections 3.02, 3.03 and 3.04 of this Loan Agreement and under Sections 5.01, 5.02, 5.03 and 5.04 of the Loan Regulations.

  • The Borrower shall ensure or cause the Pourashavas to ensure that no proceeds of the Loan are used to finance any activity included in the list of prohibited investment activities provided in Appendix 5 of the Safeguards Policy Statement.

  • Any action taken or any agreement entered into by the Project Executing Agency and the Pourashavas pursuant to the authority conferred under Section 8.01 of this Grant Agreement shall be fully binding on the Recipient and shall have the same force and effect as if taken by the Recipient.

  • The authority conferred on the Project Executing Agency and Pourashavas under Section 7.01 of this Loan Agreement may be revoked or modified by agreement between the Borrower and ADB.
