Permanent Disability/Disabled definition

Permanent Disability/Disabled means the permanent and total inability, in the opinion of the Insurer, of the Insured due to accident, injury, disease or illness to engage in his own occupation, or the permanent impairment of the Insured’s mental or physical condition(s) to such an extent that he is unable to attend to his normal bodily functions, or the permanent loss of use by the Insured of two limbs, or the sight in both eyes, or one limb and the sight in one eye.

  • Disability/Disabled means because of Injury or Sickness you are unable to perform the material duties of your Regular Occupation, or are receiving disability benefits under the Employer's plan, during the initial 9 months of Disability. Thereafter, you must be unable to perform all of the material duties of any occupation which you may reasonably become qualified based on education, training or experience, or are subject to the terms of a Rehabilitation Plan approved by the Insurance Company.

  • Permanent Disability means the Executive is unable to perform, by reason of physical or mental incapacity, his then duties or obligations to the Company, for a total period of one hundred eighty (180) days in any three hundred sixty (360) day period.

  • Disability or Disabled means you are unable to perform the usual duties of your job as a result of an illness or an injury. Provided your dependent’s condition is certified by a doctor, he or she will be considered disabled if he or she is unable to perform his or her usual daily activities.

  • Total Disability means a “permanent and total disability” within the meaning of Section 22(e)(3) of the Code and such other disabilities, infirmities, afflictions or conditions as the Committee by rule may include.
