open cast working means a quarry, that is to say, an excavation where any operation for the purpose of searching for or obtaining minerals has been or is being carried on, not being a shaft or an excavation which extends below superjacent ground;
open cast working means any workings below the original surface of the ground, excluding underground and not including any trench, pit or any other such working;
open cast working means any working beneath the original surface of the ground excluding underground but not including any trench, pit or any other like working;
