Office Grade definition

Office Grade. 2: An Office Grade 2 employee works under routine supervision with intermittent checking. An employee at this grade applies knowledge and skills to a range of tasks. The choice of actions required is usually clear, with limited complexity in the choice. Work shall be performed within established routines, methods and procedures, which involve the exercise of some discretion and decision making.
Office Grade. 3: An Office Grade 3 Employee works under limited supervision with checking related to overall progress. An employee at this grade may be responsible for the work of others and may be required to coordinate such work. An employee at this grade applies knowledge with depth in some areas and a broad range of skills. Usually, work shall be performed within routines, methods and procedures where some discretion and judgment is required. An Office Grade 3 Employee may also be an Office Grade 2 Employee who has gained three years experience within the TAER office environment and, at the discretion of Management, is deemed competent to fulfil the duties of an Office Grade 3 classification.
