A Maltster is an employee who works under supervision in performing any of the following classes of work.
Promotion from Maltster to Senior Maltster will take place when there is a vacancy, and the person has gained sufficient experience in each class of work, has completed training, and is judged to be competent.
The Senior Maltster will have shown over time a strong sense of responsibility and concern for the job, and will require no direct supervision when performing work.
The Senior Maltster has been trained and is versatile enough to carry out any of the Maltster activities within a malthouse in order that they may relieve other employees in a wide range of activities and carry out additional duties beyond those of a Maltster.
