grading system. The academic year is divided into four (4) nine weeks grading periods. Report cards are issued the following week after the end of each grading period as noted on the enclosed school calendar. Only the final report card is mailed home. If a report card is not received at home at the end of each nine weeks, please call the counseling office. Each nine weeks grade and the final examinations will determine the final average which is reported on all college transcripts. An A receives 4 grade points, B receives 3 grade points, C receives 2 grade points, and a D receives 1 grade point. When these points are averaged any major fraction (.5 or more) is counted as the next grade. The semester grade is an average of the two grading period grades (40% each) plus the grade earned on the semester exam (20%). The students’ final grade point average, which determines class rank, is an average of semester grades only. If a student withdraws from a course after the first 10 days of the semester she/he will receive the grade of an “F” in that course as the semester grade. The grades, which are used in the marking system, are A—Excellent, 90-100 F—Failure, 50-59 B—Above Average, 80-89 I—Incomplete C—Average, 70-79 M—Medically Excused D—Below Average, 60-69 Examples of Academic Dishonesty: Any action intended to obtain or assist in obtaining credit for work which is not one’s own is considered academic dishonesty.
