Common carrier by motor vehicle: any person who holds himself out to the general public to engage in the transportation by motor vehicle in interstate or foreign commerce of passengers or property or any class or classes thereof for compensation, whether over regular or irregular routes.
The term "Common carrier by motor vehicle" means any person who undertakes, whether directly or by a lease or any other arrangement, to transport passengers or property for the general public by motor vehicle for compensation over the highways of the Commonwealth, whether over regular or irregular routes, including such motor vehicle operations of carriers by rail or water and of express or forwarding companies under this chapter.
Common carrier by motor vehicle' means any person which holds itself out to the general public to engage in the transportation by motor vehicle in intrastate commerce of persons orproperty household goods or any class or classes thereof for compensation, whether over regular or irregular routes, or in charter operations, except as exempted in G.S. 62-260.
The following words and phrases when used in this chapter shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: "Common carrier by motor vehicle." As defined in 66 Pa.C.S. § 102 (relating to definitions).
Common carrier by motor vehicle" means the same as in Ohio R.C. 4923.
