Cold Shutdown definition

Cold Shutdown contemplates minimized usage of a Plant’s utility systems but does not contemplate any cessation of compliance monitoring with respect to Necessary Project Approvals.
Cold Shutdown means, in respect of a Plant, the maintenance of such Plant in a state in which the Plant facilities are not producing ethanol, ethanol work in process has been completed, and wherein (i) Plant systems and equipment preservation are being managed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and (ii) Plant facilities operate with a reduced headcount. “Cold Shutdown” contemplates minimized usage of a Plant’s utility systems but does not contemplate any cessation of compliance monitoring with respect to Necessary Project Approvals.
Cold Shutdown means the cessation of commercial operation of the Project as a biodiesel refinery and the maintenance of the Project in a state in which the Project facilities are not producing biodiesel, biodiesel work in process has been completed, and wherein (i) Project systems and equipment preservation are being managed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and prudent practices and (ii) Project facilities operate with a reduced headcount. “Cold Shutdown” contemplates minimized usage of the Project’s utility systems but does not contemplate any cessation of compliance monitoring with respect to Necessary Project Approvals.

More Definitions of Cold Shutdown

Cold Shutdown means, for any Unit, a situation in which the Unit has been producing 0 MW of energy for 50 or more consecutive hours.
Cold Shutdown means that three conditions have been established: the reactor pressure vessel’s temperature is less than 100ºC, the release of radioactive materials from the primary containment vessel is under control and public radiation exposure by additional release is being significantly held down.

  • Shutdown means the cessation of operation of equipment.
