Common use of YEAR OF SERVICE - PARTICIPATION Clause in Contracts

YEAR OF SERVICE - PARTICIPATION. For purposes of an Employee's participation in the Plan under Section 2.01, the Plan takes into account all of his Years of Service with the Employer, except as provided in Section 2.03. "Year of Service" means a 12 consecutive month period during which the Employee completes not less than 1000 Hours of Service, measuring the beginning of the first 12 month period from the Employment Commencement Date. If the Employee does not complete 1000 Hours of Service during the 12 month period commencing with the Employment Commencement Date, the Plan measures the second 12 month period by reference to the Plan Year which includes the first anniversary of the Employee's Employment Commencement Date. The Plan measures any subsequent 12 month period necessary for a determination of Year of Service for participation by reference to succeeding Plan Years. "Employment Commencement Date" means the date on which the Employee first performs an Hour of Service for the Employer.
