Common use of WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS Clause in Contracts

WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS. All workmanship shall be of the best quality appropriate to each category of work. Except where otherwise stated or approved by the Engineer, all materials used in the Works shall be of the best quality of their respective kinds as specified or described in the Specification, Drawings and Bills of Quantities and shall comply wherever possible with the current issue of the appropriate standard published by the British Standards Institution, or other equivalent national standard proposed by the Contractor and approved by the Engineer. The Contractor shall use locally produced materials in preference to imported materials provided that they comply with the Specification and are available in sufficient and timely quantities
