Common use of Working Hours Clause in Contracts

Working Hours. Contractor and all subcontractors shall comply with California Labor Code sections 1810 through 1815. Contractor and all subcontractors shall restrict the time of service of any worker on a public works project to eight hours during any one calendar day and forty hours during any one calendar week, unless all hours worked in excess of 8 hours per day are compensated at not less than 1½ times the basic rate of pay. Violations are subject to penalties of $25 per worker per day pursuant to California Labor Code section 1813.
