The Company shall make a good faith effort to provide employees with two (2) consecutive days off during the workweek, unless business needs necessitate otherwise. Such decisions shall not be arbitrary. The Company will make a good faith effort to utilize non-consecutive scheduling no more than one (1) week per month per employee, except in the case of those employees who are currently scheduled twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week;

Workdays and Workweeks a. The normal workweek for a full-time employee shall consist of forty (40) hours per week, eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week. The Company shall make a good faith effort to provide employees with two (2) consecutive days off during the workweek, unless business need necessitate otherwise. Business needs include service emergencies, weather, employees out on Short Term Disability or other conditions of a temporary nature. Such decisions shall not be arbitrary. The Company shall make a good faith effort to utilize non-consecutive scheduling no more than one (1) week per month per employee, except in the case of the Service Assurance Representatives who may be assigned to a workweek with non-consecutive days off as needed.
Workdays and Workweeks. Subsection 1. Standard work schedules. A standard workday shall consist of eight consecutive hours of work in any 24-hour period. Suggested alternative work schedules may be developed by MFPE and the Employer, such as four 10-hour days as addressed under Subsection 2. The parties through mutual agreement may negotiate over such suggested schedules during the contract term. Working conditions and/or amendments to the contract resulting from implementation of an agreed upon schedule may be part of such negotiations. The standard workweek shall be a fixed and regular recurring seven-day period coinciding with the payroll period of Saturday through Friday. A work period shall consist of 40 hours of work in a fixed and regularly recurring five consecutive days of employment. An employee's 40-hour work period need not coincide with the seven-day work week.

  • Workday and Workweek The regular workweek of a full-time employee in the bargaining unit shall be forty (40) hours and shall consist of five (5) consecutive days of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Workweek A regularly re-occurring period of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours consisting of seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. Workweeks will normally begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday or as otherwise designated by the appointing authority. If there is a change in their workweek, employees will be given written notification by the appointing authority or their designee.

  • Normal Workweek The normal workweek shall consist of five (5) days, eight (8) hours per day and forty (40) hours per week. This Article shall not restrict the extension of the regular workday or workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District.

  • Standard Workweek Except as noted below the standard workweek for full-time employees consists of five (5) consecutive eight (8) hour days, Monday through Friday each week. Non-overtime hours and starting and quitting times for such employees shall be the same throughout the standard workweek. The standard workweek does not apply to the following:

  • Weekend Work (1) All ordinary hours of work performed between midnight on Friday and midnight on Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half.

  • Workdays 1. All workdays when the central and administrative offices are open shall be duty days for unit members employed on a 12-month basis.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Work Day and Work Week (A) The normal hours of work for all full-time employees shall be thirty-five (35) hours per week, or seventy (70) hours per two consecutive weeks. All employees are entitled to thirty-two (32) consecutive hours free from work each week, unless overtime rates are paid, as per Article 29.02.

  • Weekend Worker A weekend schedule may be developed in order to meet the Home’s need for weekend staff, and individual employees’ preference for a weekend work schedule. A weekend schedule is defined as a schedule in which a full-time weekend worker works a weekly average of thirty (30) hours and is paid for 37.5 hours at their regular straight time hourly rate. The schedule must include two 11.25-hour tours, which fall within a weekend period as determined by the Home and the Union. An employee working a weekend schedule will work every weekend except as provided for in the provisions below. The Employer and the Union may agree to implement weekend worker position(s) if sixty-six and two thirds’ percent (66⅔%) of the full-time and part-time employees who work in the facility/unit are in agreement. The introduction of that schedule and the manner in which the position(s) are filled, shall be determined by the local parties. This schedule may be discontinued by either party with notice as determined by the local parties. The opportunity for an individual employee to discontinue this schedule shall be resolved by the local parties. Notwithstanding the voting mechanism above, a three (3) month trial period (or longer period, where agreed by the Home and the Union) for a weekend worker arrangement may be implemented without a vote in circumstances where the following additional conditions apply: ▪ An RN (or RNs) volunteers or applies for a weekend worker position and the Home and the Union agrees to accept the request. ▪ The work schedule will be modified to accommodate such a request provided there is no reduction in the regularly scheduled hours of the other RNs in the bargaining unit. ▪ Prior to the conclusion of the trial period, representatives of the Home and of the Union will evaluate and discuss the outcomes. Each Home must have the majority agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to agree on a trial period of up to six months. Once the trial period is complete, each Home must have a minimum of 66⅔% agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to continue with the new schedule on a permanent basis.

  • Flexible Working Hours The Employer will, where operational requirements and efficiency of the service permit, authorize experiments with flexible working hours if the Employer is satisfied that an adequate number of Employees have requested and wish to participate in such an experiment.
