Work Standard. Where the work standard in a school is lowered as a result of the transfer of permanent staff members to relieve in elementary schools, an allocation of extra staff may be made on a temporary basis to restore the school to a standard desirable to the Board. In the event that the physical condition of a school, as provided for by custodians, falls below that minimally acceptable in the district, then application for additional assistance shall be made by the Principal, on the advice of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, to the Manager of Facilities Services or his Assistant and wherever reasonably possible, relief assistance will be provided. Glass As a general rule, where there is only one custodian on duty at a school shall not be required to install glass other than in windows which can be reached from the ground or in the panes not larger than ten square feet. Consistent with the rulings of the Workers' CompensationAct, any custodianwho has just cause to feel unsafe about climbing ladders to install glass may be excused from this practice by his concerns known to the appropriate supervisor, Right to Refuse: The parties recognizethe Industrial Safety regulation states: "No person shall carry out or cause to be carried out any work, process or operate or cause to be operated any tool, appliance, or when that person has reasonable cause to believe that to do SO would create an undue hazard to the health or safety of any person". An employee should bring to the attention of immediate suporvisor any activity that is unsafe practice which the employee has reasonable cause to may pose a hazard to students, other employees or the public in general. Where the employee's opinion this does not result in the matter being adequately then the employee shall refer matter to the Health and Safety Committee and if the matter is not resolved at that level then the matter may be referred to the District Health and Safety
