Common use of When New Members Are In a Course of Treatment Clause in Contracts

When New Members Are In a Course of Treatment. If you are in a course of treatment with a non-Participating Provider when you enroll with us, you may be able to receive care from the non-Participating Provider for up to sixty (60) days from the date you become covered under this Contract. The course of treatment must be for a life threatening disease or condition or a degenerative and disabling condition or disease. You may also continue care with a non- Participating Provider if you are in the second trimester of a pregnancy when you become covered under this Contract. You may continue care through delivery and any post-partum services directly related to the delivery. However, in order for you to continue care for up to sixty (60) days or through pregnancy, the non-Participating Provider must agree to accept our payment and to adhere to our policies and procedures including those for assuring quality of care.
