Common use of Western Interconnection Clause in Contracts

Western Interconnection. “Western Interconnection” means the geographic and electrical operations area that encompasses all or parts of 14 states in the United States from the Rocky Mountains west to the Pacific Ocean, the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta, and a portion of northern Mexico, defined by the Balancing Authorities within that area that, under normal conditions, maintain synchronous operations.
