Western Interconnection Clause Samples
The 'Western Interconnection' clause defines the specific geographic and electrical region within which certain contractual obligations or operations apply, typically referring to the interconnected power grid covering the western part of North America. In practice, this clause clarifies that any references to transmission, delivery, or scheduling of electricity pertain only to facilities and transactions occurring within this defined area, which includes states like California, Nevada, and parts of Canada and Mexico. Its core function is to ensure clarity and avoid disputes by precisely delineating the scope of the agreement to the Western Interconnection, thereby preventing confusion with other power grids or regions.
