Veterans' Conventions Sample Clauses
The Veterans' Conventions clause establishes the rights and entitlements of veterans to attend or participate in conventions, meetings, or gatherings related to their service. Typically, this clause outlines eligibility criteria for veterans, the scope of events covered, and any support or accommodations provided, such as travel expenses or leave from employment. Its core function is to ensure that veterans are able to engage in important communal or commemorative activities, thereby recognizing their service and fostering a sense of community and support among veterans.
Veterans' Conventions. An employee may be granted a leave of absence with pay and without loss of vacation leave while attending a state or national convention of a veterans' organization chartered by the Congress of the United States if she/he is a delegate or an alternate. The above leave of absence may be granted at the discretion of the School Committee.
Veterans' Conventions. Any employee who is a delegate or alternate delegate to a National or State convention of a recognized veterans’ organization may request a leave of absence for the purpose of attending said convention, providing, however, that any employee requesting a leave of absence with pay must meet the following conditions:
1. The employee must be a delegate or alternate delegate to the convention as established in the bylaws of the organization.
2. They must register with the credentials committee at the convention headquarters:
3. Their name must appear on the official delegate alternate rolls that are filed at the State headquarters of their organization at the close of the convention.
4. They must have attended no other convention, with a leave of absence with pay, during the fiscal year.
5. The employee must produce, upon returning from the convention, a registration card signed by a proper official of the convention, indicating attendance.
