Upstream and Downstream Channel Views. Photographs to document the condition of the channel upstream and downstream of the structure. Photographs must be taken from the deck whenever possible. Photographs must capture a small portion of the structure edge or rail to give an indication of the channel’s approach and departure angles relative to the side of the bridge. These photographs may be taken from below the structure if it’s unsafe to do so from the deck.
