Unit Hours. Authority may purchase Unit Hours to staff additional Rescue Units to Transport Patients at the Authority’s discretion through its Executive Director. The Authority shall reimburse the Contractor for its actual costs of salary and benefits up to $75.00 per hour for each crew member of a two-person crew (Paramedic/Paramedic or Paramedic/EMT) for overtime or backfill costs for hours that are actually performed and preapproved in writing by the Authority. Such additional Units or Unit Hours may be used routinely, episodically, or during peak demand periods to maintain the level of service and Response Times for Ambulance Services. Personnel from different Contractors may be paired to place additional Rescue Units in service.
