Unit Closure Clause Samples

The Unit Closure clause defines the conditions and procedures under which a specific unit or section of a project, facility, or business operation may be permanently shut down. Typically, this clause outlines the required notice period, responsibilities for decommissioning or transferring assets, and any obligations to employees or third parties affected by the closure. By establishing a clear process for closing a unit, the clause helps manage operational transitions, mitigate potential disputes, and ensure compliance with contractual or regulatory requirements.

If a nurse has not contacted the Employer regarding their preferences, as provided for in this Agreement, the Employer will assign the nurse any available position as appears to be appropriate, based upon the nurse’s seniority, subject to skill, competence, ability and experience in the opinion of the Employer. The process for assignment to available positions will not be delayed due to the absence of the nurse.
