Union Preference Clause Samples

A Union Preference clause establishes a policy that gives hiring or employment priority to members of a specific labor union. In practice, this means that when filling job openings, the employer will first consider candidates who are union members before looking at non-union applicants. This clause is commonly used in collective bargaining agreements to strengthen union membership and ensure that union workers have better access to available positions. Its core function is to support union solidarity and job security for union members by formalizing their preferential treatment in employment decisions.
