Common use of UNION DUES OR SERVICE CHARGE Clause in Contracts

UNION DUES OR SERVICE CHARGE. 6-1 During the life of this Agreement and to the extent the laws of the State of Michigan permit, every employee, beginning with the month following (1) thirty (30) calendar days after the execution date of this Agreement or (2) thirty (30) calendar days after employment in the bargaining unit, whichever date is the later, and monthly thereafter may tender to the Union either periodic and uniformly established dues or, in the alternative, a service charge in an amount equivalent to periodic and uniformly established dues. Uniformly established dues or an equivalent service charge as used in this Article and in Article 7 shall mean that amount of uniform dues established by the affiliate of the Washtenaw County Skilled Building Trades Council for the classification in which the employee is classified.
