Common use of Tuition Payment Clause in Contracts

Tuition Payment. A. The Easton School Committee will reimburse nine hundred and fifty dollars ($950) for courses which show a direct relationship to the individual’s current assignment or courses in a Degree program, which are directly related to the employee’s current major assignment. These courses must be approved by the Superintendent of Schools prior to their being taken and a transcript from the college, along with a receipt of tuition paid, must be presented upon completion of the course in order to qualify for payment. Available vouchers can be used for any course. B. Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Psychologists may access seven hundred dollars ($700) per school year (September 1st to August 31st) in order to acquire the Continuing Education Units necessary to maintain a license. C. The provision of this article should not exceed the budgeted amount for that fiscal year, nor shall less than fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) be budgeted in any fiscal year. D. If a course is taken for degree credit, it must meet the requirements of the college or university, and the grade must insure continuation in the program. E. Voucher courses are subject to the same conditions as tuition courses in order to qualify for reimbursement of fees and to insure horizontal movement on the salary schedule. However, during the last period before expiration, vouchers may be used for courses, which do not relate to an individual’s assignment. In the event voucher courses are not approved for salary credit, Article IV, Section D, may be invoked by the party denied horizontal movement on the salary schedule. F. All courses must be taken at accredited institutions, and in order to insure a high degree of quality, no persons will be permitted to enroll in more than one (1) three (3) credit course at a time when schools are in session. This applies to the regular school year of the Town of Easton and does not restrict the number of courses, which may be taken during the summer. Any courses taken during the summer will not be reimbursed until after the start of the school year in September and the employee has resumed his/her assignment in Easton.

Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses 17.6 Tuition Fees will be calculated using the AANDC’s FTE funding schedule and Psychologists may access seven hundred dollars ($700will be adjusted according to future AANDC changes to a maximum: a) per school 1 .00 = 8 courses/year (September 1st to August 31stb) in order to acquire the Continuing Education Units necessary to maintain a license..875 = 7 courses/year c) .750 = 6 courses/year d) .625 = 5 courses/year e) .5 = 4 courses/year f) .375 = 3 courses/year g) .250 = 2 courses/year h) .125 = 1 course/year C. However, during the last period before expiration, vouchers may be used for courses, which do not relate to an individual’s assignment. 17.7 In the event voucher courses are of a School closure due to a labour dispute, the Tuition Fees will be equitably adjusted by the agreement of the Parties and returned to the First Nation for the benefit of the First Nation’s students in the same manner as occurs with the Ministry of Education. 17.8 The Parties agree that additional services or programs not approved for salary credit, Article IV, Section D, contemplated by this Agreement may be invoked provided by the party denied horizontal movement Board through agreement by the Parties on the salary scheduleterms and costs for such service(s) and/or program(s). F. All courses must be taken at accredited institutions, and 17.9 Where Indigenous Services Canada is late in order to insure a high degree of quality, no persons will be permitted to enroll in more than one (1) three (3) credit course at a time when schools are in session. This applies providing Tuition Funding to the regular school year First Nation, a) the First Nation will notify the Board of the Town of Easton and does not restrict delay in receiving ISC funding; and b) the number of courses, which may be taken during the summer. Any courses taken during the summer Board will not be reimbursed until after charge interest to the start First Nation on any amount that is outstanding due to Indigenous Services’ late provision of the school year in September and the employee has resumed his/her assignment in Eastonfunding.
