Common use of Truancy Clause in Contracts

Truancy. A habitual truant is one who has had at least five unexcused absences, or absences for which the reasons are unknown, within a calendar month or 10-15 unexcused absences, or absences for with the reasons are unknown, within a 90-calendar-day period. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shows a deliberate disregard for the educational program and is considered a serious matter that will have immediate consequences. When administrative actions taken to correct truancy have proven ineffective, the school system may file proceedings in court and furnish evidence for the conviction of parents/legal guardian and/or child for non- compliance with state attendance laws. Students are recognized if they maintain perfect attendance. Perfect attendance is considered as zero absences and zero tardiness to school and zero absences and zero tardiness to each assigned class. Whether the absence/tardy is excused or unexcused is not a consideration. It is our belief that good discipline is one of the cornerstones of a good education, and that to ensure good discipline a close, cooperative relationship must exist between the home and the school. It is our goal to provide close communication with parents at the onset of discipline problems, so that together we can find alternatives for students and they can experience success in relationships at home and school. For this discipline program to be successful, students must make choices for themselves and be responsible for their own behavior as well as for their academic performance. Students who make poor choices cannot, and should not, place blame on the environment, parents, the school, and/or peers. All persons, involved in committing, planning, participating, helping, advising, encouraging, or benefiting in the violation of a rule or code of conduct are parties to the violation. While the school will help students develop good decision-making skills, ultimately, the future is determined by each student’s own actions. The procedures in the discipline program will be followed in a fair and consistent manner.

A habitual truant The Diocese of Harrisburg, in accordance with the regulations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as it relates to school attendance, has adopted an attendance policy for diocesan schools. Regular attendance is one who has had at least five absolutely essential to the educational process. Parents, by law, are responsible for the regular attendance of their children. While the Diocesan policy, as well as that of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, focuses on unexcused absences, or absences for the issue of tardiness is no less an important part of a student’s educational process. Consistent tardiness places the tardy student, as well as the classroom teacher and other students, in a difficult position. The tardy student misses valuable instructional time; the teacher and other students are interrupted during instruction and are subject to unnecessary distraction. By Pennsylvania law, contacting the public school district in which the reasons are unknownstudent resides could be a necessary step. At that point, within you may be referred to a calendar month School Attendance Improvement Conference. Following that, if the absences and/or tardiness continue, the School District can refer your family to a community based attendance improvement program or 10-15 unexcused absencesthe County Children and Youth Agency. If the administration receives reports of a student’s behavior having a detrimental impact on our school’s reputation, or benefiting that of any of its students or teachers we will address this behavior and administer appropriate consequences. *The administration at STS reserves the right to remove students from the participation in activities and/or take away privileges as consequences if deemed necessary. Any and all decisions regarding discipline are up to the discretion of the school administration. It is our duty to look at each situation individually so that we are fair and just in the violation delivery of a rule or code of conduct are parties to the violation.
