Transfer in Lieu of or to Prevent Layoff Sample Clauses
The 'Transfer in Lieu of or to Prevent Layoff' clause allows an employer to reassign employees to different positions or departments as an alternative to laying them off. In practice, this means that when a position is being eliminated or downsized, affected employees may be offered available roles elsewhere within the organization, provided they meet the qualifications for those roles. This clause helps minimize job loss by prioritizing internal transfers over terminations, thereby retaining valuable employees and reducing the negative impact of layoffs on both staff and the organization.
