PTO Carry Over. Each employee shall be entitled to carry over up to forty-eight (48) hours of PTO Time into the next calendar year. Employees may request to carry-over PTO time in excess of forty-eight (48) hours and this request must be made in writing to the Public Safety Director and Director of Human Resources by December 1st each year.

PTO Carry Over. No more than two (2) years of accrual can be carried over past the employee’s anniversary date and accrual will cease when such maximum is reached. The employee shall sell back any amount not allowed to be carried over and accrual will not start again until the employee has sold back or used sufficient hours to bring the accrued level below the maximum amount.

PTO Carry Over. The maximum accrual that an employee’s PTO bank may reach at any time is the combination of the employee’s current annual PTO accrual plus eighty (80) hours (i.e. if an employee accrues at 9.70 hours per pay period (252 hours annualized), the employee shall not have a PTO balance of more than 322 hours at any time). Once the PTO bank reaches the maximum allowed, no further PTO will accrue until the employee’s PTO bank falls back within the prescribed limits either through usage or sell back.
PTO Carry Over. Employees may carry over PTO hours accrued from the year in which it was earned into the following year(s), up to a maximum of 150% of an Employee’s annual PTO accrual. Employees who reach the 150% accrual cap shall not continue to accrue PTO until such time as their balance falls below 150% of their annual accrual amount.

Accrued, unused PTO above the carry-over maximum will be forfeited after the end of the last pay period each calendar year. Annual accruals and PTO carried over from the prior calendar year may not at any time exceed 288 hours (prorated for employees with budgeted hours of less than forty (40) hours but at least twenty-four (24) hours). The carryover process will occur with the pay period which contains January 1.
