Common use of Three Shift Operation Clause in Contracts

Three Shift Operation. First Shift - The regular hours of work on the first shift of three shift operations shall be eight (8) hours of continuous employment, except for lunch period at mid-shift, between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Second Shift - The second shift shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours of continuous employment except for lunch period at mid shift and shall be paid for at eight (8) hours at the straight time hourly rate. Third Shift - The third shift shall consist of seven (7) consecutive hours of employment, except for lunch period at mid shift, and shall be paid for at eight (8) hours at the straight time hourly wage rate.
