Temporary Drivers. Temporary drivers are hourly employees who do not have probationary/permanent status. They are sued to substitute for absent probationary/permanent drivers, to drive special and extra trips as needed, and to perform urgent or emergency departmental work when availability is essential to the efficient operation of the department. Temporary drivers become eligible for probationary status when they have been available and performed each driving assignment offered during ninety consecutive working days.

Temporary Drivers the dependent contractors shall have the right to hire and pay a Company approved driver for temporary placement on his equipment. This temporary driver must be covered under the Dependant Contractor’s Work Safe coverage.
Temporary Drivers. The following are the applicable rates for Temporary Drivers: The company will give preference by seniority, to drivers who wish to work primarily within the sixty (60) kilometer radius of their home terminal. However, the Company retains the right to dispatch drivers in a manner consistent with the best economic interests of the business. SECTION Statutory Holidays The Company will observe the following plant holidays: New Years Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day January 2nd An additional (12th) holiday will be granted if declared by the Provincial Government. These holidays will be observed on the following dates: Plant Holiday Schedule Jan 2/07 Jan 1/08 Jan 2/09 Employees on the seniority lists other than those laid off or on leave of absence will receive eight (8) hours straight pay for each of such holidays without being required to work on such days. Probationary employees and Temporary Employees will be eligible for pay for Statutory Holidays provided they have worked at least five (5) days during the twenty (20) working days immediately preceding the Statutory Holiday; and, have been at work, as scheduled, the day before and the day after the said Statutory Holiday. When a Statutory Holiday is observed during an employee’s annual vacation, payment for the holiday will be made in addition to the employee’s vacation pay. Such Statutory Holidays may be taken consecutively with the annual vacation provided that a request is made one month prior to the employee’s vacation, and that the employee’s Department Manager agrees to it. It is understood that permission will not be unreasonably withheld. Penalty rates for employees working shifts on the holidays listed above shall be deemed applicable on the three shifts of the day in question, the holiday being defined for all purposes as commencing at a.m. and ending at SECTION

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons. An employee will normally receive seven (7) days notice of a temporary layoff.

  • Temporary Roads As necessary to attain stabilization of roadbed and fill slopes of Temporary Roads, Purchaser shall employ such measures as out- sloping, drainage dips, and water-spreading ditches. After a Temporary Road has served Purchaser’s pur- pose, Purchaser shall give notice to Forest Service and shall remove bridges and culverts, eliminate ditches, out- slope roadbed, remove ruts and berms, effectively block the road to normal vehicular traffic where feasible under existing terrain conditions, and build cross ditches and water bars, as staked or otherwise marked on the ground by Forest Service. When bridges and culverts are re- moved, associated fills shall also be removed to the ex- tent necessary to permit normal maximum flow of water.

  • Temporary Layoffs A. The Employer may initiate a temporary layoff for up to twelve (12) working days per fiscal year. Employees will be given thirty (30) days’ notice before the effective date of a temporary layoff. Employees may request alternative temporary layoff days from their manager or supervisor and any requests will be considered and approved or denied in writing.

  • Temporary Work 17.01 (a) Employees shall perform any temporary work which the Management directs with the understanding that when an employee is assigned to a job with a lesser rate of pay, he shall receive his regular rate of pay.

In the event of any Condemnation as in this Section 15.6 described, the entire amount of any Award made for such Condemnation allocable to the Term of this Lease, whether paid by way of damages, rent or otherwise, shall be paid to Lessee. Lessee covenants that upon the termination of any such period of temporary use or occupancy it will, at its sole cost and expense (subject to Lessor’s contribution as set forth below), restore the Leased Property as nearly as may be reasonably possible to the condition in which the same was immediately prior to such Condemnation, unless such period of temporary use or occupancy extends beyond the expiration of the Term, in which case Lessee shall not be required to make such restoration. If restoration is required hereunder, Lessor shall contribute to the cost of such restoration that portion of its entire Award that is specifically allocated to such restoration in the judgment or order of the court, if any, and Lessee shall fund the balance of such costs in a manner reasonably satisfactory to Lessor.

  • Temporary Disconnection Temporary disconnection shall continue only for so long as reasonably necessary under Good Utility Practice.
