Temporary Assignment to Higher Classification. 31.01 When an employee is assigned on a temporary basis to perform work in a position classification other than the member's own and there is a difference in the rates of pay for the two (2) positions, the member shall be paid the next higher of the two (2) rates for all days worked in the position in excess of fifteen (15) days. 31.02 For permanent members, all time spent in a position in a higher classification in a temporary capacity will be retained by the member performing this work and should the member eventually be placed in that position permanently the time spent in the temporary capacity will count toward the member moving through that pay grid.
