Technical Specialist is a staff and technical support position with responsibility for coordination and monitoring of Laboratory support activities (i.e., quality control, training, in-service education, new employee orientation, etc.) in addition to CLS duties. Years of experience must be greater than or equal to an Experienced Senior CLS. The Laboratory Manager may choose to consider outside experience as equivalent. However, advanced level training is preferred.
Technical Specialist. Employees at the first step of this classification are in the earlier stages of their careers. Employees in this classification will be moved to the second step after three (3) years of experience at the first step. Employees at the second step of this classification typically have three (3) or more years of experience and are fully qualified practitioners. All technical specialists with at least three (3) years of experience will be placed at the second step.
