TEACHING HOURS AND ASSIGNMENTS. A. It is the responsibility of each individual teacher, as well as the Board, to provide the highest quality educational program practicable for every boy and girl in the school district. To this end, the teacher should maintain practices inherent in his profession such as: (1) carefully written daily preparation; (2) attendance at staff meetings and (3) encouraged participation in activities of the school and community. The school year shall include one (1) pre-service, professional development, and one-half (½) post- service days as determined by the negotiated calendar and three (3) additional evening events to include (i.e, open houses, orientations, graduations, and student celebrations) outside the negotiated calendar as determined by the building principal.
