TEACHING HOURS AND ASSIGNMENTS. A. The teachers normal workday shall be from 7:30 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. However, no more than two days each month, the teachers’ normal workday shall be from 7:15 a.m. until 2:45 p.m., in order to have staff meetings in each building and give the Association an opportunity to meet, if needed. The listed hours shall be inclusive of a thirty-five (35) minute duty-free lunch period. Except in cases of emergency or unusual circumstances, no teacher shall be required to supervise students more than ten (10) minutes before the start of the student school day nor work more than fifteen (15) minutes beyond the close of the student day. The foregoing, however, shall not apply to extracurricular duties or parent conferences. No teacher shall be required to serve on any committee which meets beyond the normal workday as described above. B. During a full week of normal school days, each teacher shall be allocated no less than two hundred twenty-five (225) minutes of preparation time, exclusive of duty-free lunch periods, within regularly scheduled student attendance periods. Additionally, each teacher shall be allocated at least one hundred fifty (150) minutes of professional learning community collaboration time with colleagues each week. All other non-scheduled time as may exist during the prescribed teacher work day, within or outside the standard student attendance day, said amount of time to not be less than one hundred (100) minutes per week, shall be allocated to and utilized for planning and/or developmental activities, student individual or group tutorial sessions, and parent-teacher conferences. C. Social workers, guidance counselors, psychologists, and school nurses shall work one hundred ninety (190) days during each school year, which normally shall include working the week prior to the first teacher workday of the school year and the week after the last teacher workday of the school year, or some variation thereof as determined by the administration in consultation with the staff. Additionally, social workers, guidance counselors, psychologists, and school nurses may be required to work evenings and weekends as needed in crisis situations.

Additionally, each teacher shall be allocated at least one hundred fifty (150) minutes (thirty (30) minutes x 5 days per week) of professional learning community collaboration time with colleagues each weekweek with two 30 minute periods per week of this time to be utilized for Principal directed collaboration time. All other non-scheduled time as may exist during the prescribed teacher work day, within or outside the standard student attendance day, said amount of time to not be less than one hundred seventy-five (10075) minutes per week, shall be allocated to and utilized for planning and/or developmental activities, student individual or group tutorial sessions, and parent-teacher conferences.
C. Social workers, guidance counselors, psychologists, psychologists and school nurses shall work one hundred ninety (190) days during each school year, which normally shall include working the week prior to the first teacher workday of the school year and the week after the last teacher workday of the school year, or some variation thereof as determined by the administration in consultation with the staff. Additionally, social workers, guidance counselors, psychologists, and school nurses may be required to work evenings evening and weekends as needed in crisis situations. The social workers, guidance counselors, psychologists and school nurses will be compensated for the additional ten (10) work days and any necessary evening and weekends in a crisis by an annual stipend payment of five percent (5%) of the employee’s salary and provided adequate documentation is provided to demonstrate hours worked and activities performed during any necessary evenings and weekends in a crisis only. Section B of this Article shall not be applicable to a social worker, guidance counselor, psychologist or school nurse, however, the social workers, guidance counselors, psychologists and school nurse shall be entitled to the same duty-free lunch period as teachers as set forth in paragraph A of this Section.
D. For security purposes, all teachers shall sign in (name only) at the beginning of the workday and sign out with their name only at the end of the workday as defined in paragraph (A) above. Additionally, any teacher leaving the school for any thirty-five (35) minute period of time during normal work hours as defined in paragraph A above, shall also sign in and out for security purposes.

TEACHING HOURS AND ASSIGNMENTS. A. The teachers normal workday shall be from 7:30 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. Board and the Association recognize and agree that the teachers’ responsibility to the students, community and profession generally entails the performance of duty and the expenditure of time and service beyond classroom duty hours. However, teachers may be required to attend no more than two days three (3) evening assignments or meetings each month, the teachers’ normal workday school year without additional compensation.
1. Grades kindergarten - 5 teachers shall be from 7:15 a.m. until 2:45 p.m., in order required to have staff meetings in each building report for duty five (5) minutes prior to the start of school and give the Association an opportunity to meet, if needed. The listed hours shall be inclusive of a thirtyremain twenty-five (3525) minutes after the close of the school day. Grades 6 - 12 teachers shall be required to report for duty five (5) minutes prior to the start of the student day and shall remain a total of seven and one-quarter (7 ¼) hours on a regular student day. These times may be adjusted or shortened by the building principal on an annual basis. Teachers shall indicate their presence for duty in a method appropriate to their particular building.
2. The total in-school work day shall consist of not more than seven (7) hours in grades Kindergarten through 5 and seven and one-quarter (7 ¼) hours in grades 6 through 12.
3. The in-school work day shall include the following prep and lunch times: Grades Kindergarten – 5: 40 minute duty-free lunch Grades Kindergarten – 5: 40 minute daily prep period Grades 6 – 12: at least 26 minutes duty free lunch. Teachers may leave the building during their duty-free lunch period.
4. Except in cases On Fridays or on days preceding holidays or vacations, the teachers’ day shall end at the close of emergency or unusual circumstances, no teacher the pupils’ day. Teachers shall work a one-session day prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
C. Teachers may be required to supervise students more than ten (10) minutes before remain after the start end of the student school regular work day nor work more for the purpose of attending faculty or other professional meetings. Such meetings shall begin no later than fifteen (15) minutes after the student dismissal time and shall run for no more than sixty (60) minutes. If a meeting will last longer than thirty (30) minutes beyond the close end of the student day. The foregoing, however, shall not apply to extracurricular duties or parent conferences. No teacher shall be required to serve on any committee which meets beyond the normal workday as described above.

All other non-scheduled time as may exist during the prescribed teacher work day, within or outside a notice of such meeting and the standard student attendance day, said amount of time to not be less than one hundred (100) minutes per week, agenda for the meeting shall be allocated distributed twenty-four (24) hours in advance except in emergency situations. Teachers may have the opportunity to and utilized suggest possible agenda items for planning and/or developmental activities, student individual or group tutorial sessions, and parent-teacher conferences.
C. Social workers, guidance counselors, psychologists, and school nurses shall work one hundred ninety (190) days during each school year, which normally shall include working consideration by the week principal prior to the first teacher workday distribution of the school year and agenda. The presence or absence of teacher-suggested items in no way limits the week after principal’s right to develop the last teacher workday agenda as he deems fit except that if affirmed by a majority vote of the school yearfaculty concerned, or some variation thereof as determined by teacher-suggested items must be added to the administration principal’s agenda. Such meetings shall not exceed four (4) days each month.
D. 1. The following daily teaching loads in consultation with the staff. Additionally, social workers, guidance counselors, psychologists, and school nurses grades 6 through 12 may be required converted to work evenings weekly equivalents. Teachers assigned six (6) academic periods per day shall have ten (10) non-pupil contact periods per week. Teachers assigned to five (5) academic periods shall have thirty-three (33) pupil contact periods per week and weekends seven (7) non-pupil contact periods per week. Full period supervisory assignments shall be considered a pupil contact period. Department Chairs will have no more than 25 pupil contact periods per week and will be assigned no additional duties, i.e. lunch, in-house suspension duties. Elementary Coordinators are also exempt from duties. Teachers assigned to seven (7) academic classes will be assigned on a voluntary basis and will receive $5,865. additional salary for the year. The above amount will be paid as needed a stipend with one-half (1/2) payable in crisis situationsDecember and one-half (1/2) payable in June. A teacher assigned to six (6) academic periods per day may volunteer for a supervisory assignment and receive a $2,600. stipend. A teacher without a year’s teaching experience shall not be assigned seven (7) academic periods.
