Teacher Suspension Procedure a. The Administration has the right to suspend a teacher with or without pay for disciplinary purposes. b. Prior to any such suspension, the Administration shall conduct an investigation of the incident or infraction(s) upon which any such suspension will be based. The results of the investigation shall be reduced to writing and given to the teacher along with a recommendation for a possible suspension with or without pay. c. Upon request of the teacher and within five (5) days of the teacher's receiving written notification of a possible suspension with or without pay, the teacher may request a meeting with the Superintendent. The teacher shall have the right to representation at the meeting. d. The Superintendent's decision on the suspension shall be issued within ten (10) days after the Superintendent's meeting. e. Suspension of a teacher with or without pay for disciplinary reasons shall only occur for just cause. This just cause standard in this provision shall not apply to the nonrenewal of the teacher's limited teaching contract, nor shall it affect in any way the rights of the Board or members of the bargaining unit with respect to termination procedures initiated under O.R.C. §3319.16.

Teacher Suspension Procedure. A. Staff may be suspended without pay but with fringe benefits for just cause disciplinary reasons not leading to termination of their contract for a period not to exceed five (5) days. B. Any contested suspension under Section A above may be immediately advanced to expedited grievance arbitration by the Association to Level Three - - Arbitration Procedure. The appeal to expedited arbitration must occur within the time limits provided in the grievance procedure after the written suspension decision is communicated to the affected employee and the Association.
Teacher Suspension Procedure. 1. The Board agrees to follow traditional principles of progressive discipline with the usual understanding that some or all preliminary levels may be bypassed case-by- case depending upon the seriousness of the offense and all relevant surrounding circumstances. The normal progressive sequence is: a. Documented warning; b. Written reprimand; c. Suspension without pay not to exceed ten (10) workdays (by Superintendent/designee); d. Termination (with or without suspension pending the resolution of termination proceedings) in accordance with Section 3319.16 of the Ohio Revised Code and any related statutes. 2. Starting with the written reprimand level in the above sequence, discipline will be for just cause. 3. Any disciplinary action, except for documented warnings and termination proceedings under Section 3319.16 of the Ohio Revised Code, is subject to review under the grievance procedure appearing in Article IV of this Agreement.
