Common use of Surplus, Emergency or Seasonal Work Clause in Contracts

Surplus, Emergency or Seasonal Work. Surplus, emergency or seasonal work may be performed by casual employees hired for a period not to exceed one hundred and forty (140) calendar days or for the duration of the sickness or leave of absence of a member of the Bargaining Unit. For such work, the posting requirements will not apply. The Employer agrees to notify the Union, in writing, of the name, position, location, duration and the reason for utilizing casual employees.
