Surface Courses. When checked with a 10-foot straight edge placed parallel to the centerline, the finished surface shall show no variation more than 1/8-inch for surface courses. When surface tests indicate that surface tolerances do not meet these requirements, changes to the paving operations shall be made before beginning the next day’s operations. All transverse joints shall have straight edges immediately following rolling of the joint.
