Substitute Calling. Teachers shall notify the district of their absence from school because of illness with the following guidelines:

Substitute Calling. An employee who is assigned to a class and knows they are ill and unable to come to work are required to contact the substitute caller at least two (2) hours prior to the start of their workday to permit the Employer time to secure a substitute, except that in emergencies the employee shall call in as soon as possible. Employees not assigned to a classroom shall contact their immediate supervisor to report their absence within the first hour of the workday. Failure to provide adequate notice may be grounds for disciplinary action.
Substitute Calling. Employees are required to report their absences no later than 6:00AM on the day of the absence. After 6:00AM, employees are required to follow building procedures to report the absence. If an employee reports an absence after 6:00AM, it is requested that they notify the building administrator or Principal at the employee's assigned building prior to 7 a.m.
Substitute Calling. Any employee responsible for calling substitutes shall receive a stipend of $2,725.38 effective July 1, 2008; $2807.14 effective July 1, 2009, and $2891.36 effective July 1, 2010. Such stipend shall not be included in the employee’s base salary effective July 1, 2008. The employee shall work the normal workday except as specified by the Superintendent.
Substitute Calling. Any employee responsible for calling substitutes shall receive a stipend of $2500.00 per year, not to be included in an employee’s base salary. Such stipend shall be paid to the employee in equal installments along with his/her regular pay checks.
Substitute Calling. The bargaining unit member responsible for calling teacher substitutes shall receive the extra compensation of fourteen hundred dollars ($1400) per semester. The bargaining unit member responsible for calling paraprofessional staff substitutes will receive the extra compensation of five hundred dollars ($500) persemester.
Substitute Calling. The District will explore reasonable alternatives to streamline, standardize and enhance the calling and assignment of substitute teachers. A secretary who is required to perform substitute calling outside their regular work day will be compensated for all such work time in accordance with Section C above.
Substitute Calling. Employees who are assigned substitute calling duties beyond their regular workday shall be paid a minimum of one half (1/2) hour pay for each day those duties are assigned. At any time, should the time spent on such duties exceed one half (1/2) hour, employees will be compensated for all time worked.
