Study Materials Committee. Not later than September 1st of each year, the Chief shall establish a committee(s) for the selection of study materials for the written promotional examinations for each rank. Such materials which are selected shall be reviewed by the Chief who shall make the final selection subject to approval by the Civil Service Commission. A listing of all potential materials from which promotional examination questions may be taken shall be posted annually each January for examinations to be administered within the one-year period beginning the following April. Such material may not be used unless available from publishing companies at the time of the posting of the study materials list.
