Student Support. The parties agree that it is important that unit members who provide direct support to students be provided/have access to critical information regarding the student. Such information may be provided by teachers/administrators/support personnel in the form of oral/written communication or access to particular student records. The parties also agree that the unit member receiving such information is responsible for complying with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the privacy of such information.

Student Support. The University will continue our current Access Agreement commitment to fund a wide range of central Student Support services which are designed to help students to succeed in their studies, to overcome any difficulties they may face and to make the most of their time at the University. We will fund support to the University Disability Team to ensure student support needs are identified and managed as early as possible in the application cycle. We will also provide on-going support for students with disabilities to help their progression and retention. This will supplement other University support for students who are not eligible for, or who have not yet claimed, Disabled Students’ Allowance. There will be a significant investment by the University in Residents’ Support Network provision from 2011 onwards to support the transition of students into higher education, to xxxxxx an inclusive community within residences and to assist in skills development essential for independent living. This initiative will engage students from a wide range of ethnic and social backgrounds with a proportion of the expansion supported through the Access Agreement. Enhanced training for volunteer members of the network is expected to contribute to the employability of these students.
Student Support. In recognition of the fact that some students with special needs may require supplemental support and assistance, the district will budget $4,000 toward the provision of program access, facilities modifications, training and similar student needs. Staff members, Learning Improvement Teams and other recognized groups, with the building principal's approval, may apply to the appropriate Director in charge of Teaching and Learning for access to this assistance. Student Support. During the 9th grade year, students will participate in a college preparatory curriculum developed by TCC and Union high school faculty. The full-year course incorporates best practices to orient students to college-level expectations, study, research, and time management skills, and to build relationships in the cohort. Additionally, ECHS students will be expected to attend a summer Boot Camp Program. The Boot Camp will prepare students for college placement testing, enrollment, and expose students to the college campus. Early alerts for ECHS students in college courses will be generated by TCC every two weeks. High school counselors and administrators who have signed the TCC dual credit enrollment form, which includes a FERPA waiver signed by the student and parent/guardian, will receive alerts generated by faculty in order to provide support to students. The FERPA waiver clarifies that TCC may share information with the high school regarding attendance, grades, academic performance, disciplinary actions, and student records. Additionally, students will provide grades to Union counselors and administrators as requested. TCC faculty teaching in the ECHS program will update the Blackboard grade book once a month or after a major assignment has been graded. Grade books in Blackboard will have a pass/fail column to provide grades for eligibility purposes. If a student's grade in any class falls below 70%, the Friday Union study class will be required. Tutoring may also be required. Replacements into high school courses will be possible and may be necessary to help ensure that students do not lose credits toward high school graduation. ECHS students are expected to become self-regulated and gradually take on more personal responsibility regarding their college experience. Students may include additional parties in conversations related to their academic performance but the conversation will be directed to the student. Students will adhere to the TCC Student Handbook policies and processes and will be responsible for communicating with TCC faculty and administrators on all college-related issues. The Office of Concurrent Enrollment will address parental concerns and will communicate these concerns with faculty as appropriate. TCC advisors will conduct group or individual college advisement conferences, including degree audits, two times per year with all ECHS students. Student Support. To ensure students’ quick orientation and integration in the Degree Programme as well as to provide detailed information about structural and examination-related requirements, the Partners shall publish corresponding information on the faculty websites as well as on a jointly compiled Degree Programme website, outlining the structure of the Degree Programme in general terms and providing details about the Partner Institutions, an overview of procedures, the time table of the academic year and important deadlines at the Partner Institutions, and all regulations which shall apply to all students on the Degree Programme. Furthermore, the joint website shall provide information on the overall costs of the Degree Programme including living expenses. The joint website shall be supplemented by local information provided by each Partner, including examination procedures. The website is hosted and maintained by JGU. The Partner Institutions offer Degree Programme students advice and orientation; these services are to be specified on the Degree Programme website. The Degree Programme students will benefit from all the services offered by the Partner Institutions to other regular students, e.g. cafeterias, advising, language courses and computer courses. The Partner Institutions will assist students to find accommodation within their means. It is an important concern of the Partner Institutions to ensure equal opportunities. They strive to prevent any form of discrimination and to provide adequate support to persons affected by discrimination.
