Student Assistant. The position of student assistant will be created to assist the University in finding opportunities for student employment and the department shall maintain a block of hours which will be filled by student assistants. (i) Student assistants shall be paid at the rate of: $9.81 as of March 31, 1999 plus twenty (20) percent in lieu of benefits. $10.24 as of April 1, 2001 plus twenty (20) percent in lieu of benefits. (ii) The principles of Article 20.1 above are reinforced by this Article 20.2. Student assistants may not be appointed to continuing Equipment Assistant positions. However, when the temporary part-time trainees are not available, qualified students may be used to fill in temporarily for Equipment Assistant positions.
