Common use of Steward Clause in Contracts

Steward. ‌ A. The Employer recognizes the right of the Police Officers Labor Council to designate one (1) ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for each representational area from the employees covered by the terms of this Agreement. One of these stewards shall be designated as Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. The names of the stewards shall be certified in writing to the Employer by the Local Union. The authority of the stewards so designated by the Local Union shall be limited to and shall not exceed the following duties and activities. 1. The investigation and presentation of employee's grievances in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ may investigate and present grievances to the Employer during his/her regular working hours providing that the time used for this purpose will not be abused and the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will perform his/her regularly assigned work. 2. The transmission of such messages and information which shall originate with, and are authorized by, the Local Union or its Officers, provided such messages and information: a. have been reduced in writing, or b. if not reduced to writing are of a routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slow- downs, or any other interference with the Employer's business. B. The Employer agrees that it will allow the proper accredited representative of the Police Officers Labor Council access to the campus during normal working hours for the purpose of administering the terms and conditions of this Agreement. C. The Union shall have access to all pertinent records in regard to the disposition of grievances which may arise. D. The authority of each campus ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be limited to the presentation of the grievance during the informal conference of the
